Instead of marching down the field, a handful of Tennessee Titans, including Quarterback Marcus Mariota, marched down the hallways of Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital, a part of Ascension. The players helped spread Christmas cheer to orthopedic patients and newborns trading in their helmets for Santa hats and their game faces for smiling ones. Accompanied by two singing Santas. Mariota and the players spent about an hour at the hospital visiting with patients. “It’s a great opportunity for us to reach the community and spread some Christmas cheer and have some fun,” said Mariota. Joining Mariota were DE Karl Klug, DE Angelo Blackson, DL DaQuan Jones, DL Al Woods and QB Alex Tanney.
After the hospital visit, Mariota was greeted by members of the Maplewood High School football team. They wanted to personally thank the 2nd year Titans quarterback for his generous donation to their football program in the amount of $5,000 through his Motiv8 Foundation. The Foundation aims to create and support economic and educational programs and athletic activities to provide an alternative outlet for youth of troubled neighborhoods and backgrounds.
